Central Asia is one of five most important sources of cultural plants where rare and unique species of wild horticultural crops are preserved. Expansion of pastures for domestic cattle, illegal cutting down of trees, industrialization, introduction and planting of alien species threaten and force out wild and endemic cultures. Scientists and experts of whole world have faced the problem of saving the genetic fund of wild plants. Already for several years the works on registration, foundation of dada bank and saving the wild relatives of many cultures are being carried out within the framework of the project Biodiversity International/UNEP-GEF’ In situ/On farm- Preservation and Use of Agro- bio- diversity (horticultural crops and their wild relatives) in Central Asia. During these years the great work was implemented in each country-participant of this project.
Soil, flora and fauna in the nature closely interact with climate; they also influence on formation of the human style of life. People have got used and adapted to the concrete climate. They took into consideration the climate peculiarities to make their life more comfortable. For example when designing and constructing towns it is necessary to know prevalent wind direction: it allows locating industry enterprises in such a way that they would not pollute the air of residential blocks with smoke and soot. The climate influences on the human health and life conditions. Human organism loses warmth owing to radiation, heat conduction, convection and evaporation of humidity from surface of the body. If these loses are too high in cold weather or too low in hot weather a man feels a discomfort and can fall ill.

Frequent exchange of experience and information at seminars and conferences allows scientists to keep up with the times, to become acquainted with the outcomes of researches, to study foreign experience.
Wealth and diversity of flora of Uzbekistan , the peculiarities of plants’ adaptation to arid severe living conditions further formation of the original direction of botany in our country- the research of the ecological interaction of a plant organism and the environment, based on studying its structure in the conditions of natural habitat. The Scientific and Production Centre ‘Botany’ of the Academy of Science of the Republic of Uzbekistan researches these problems. In his time Jura Kamalovich Saidov an academician of the Academy of the Academy of Science of the Republic of Uzbekistan laid the foundation of this direction. The countries of Central Asia located in the common ecological area of the Aral Sea basin (ASB) to a different extent are suffering from limitation in water resources. Catastrophic drying up of the Aral Sea has caused storage of drinking and irrigation water for inhabitants of whole region and undermined the life foundation of the ASB inhabitants – agriculture. Disappearance of water brought in another problem. Because of the continuous process of disinflation (destruction, weathering, blowout), dust and salt from dried bottom of the Aral Sea rise and spread for many hundreds of kilometers, mix up with clouds and fall with precipitation throughout Central Asia.

Protected natural territories (PNT) created all over the world are necessary for preservation of natural landscapes and biological diversity of the regions. The PNT are land and water spaces which have priority ecological, scientific, cultural, aesthetic, recreational and sanitary importance and are fully or partially withdrawn from the economic use. They are indispensible for ensuring natural balance; are centres of ecological stability and rehabilitation of natural ecological systems. Taking all this into consideration, the Wild Nature Protection Centre and the World Wildlife Foundation in 1997 declared 11 January the World Day of Reserves and National parks.
