The problem of preservation of biological diversity occupies a significant place among the global ecological problems.  The concept of biological diversity comprises a large number of wild species of plants and animals including birds. Taking all this into consideration, the United Nations Organization declared the year 2010 the International Year of Biological Diversity. This event is a matter of principle for humanity; this is declaration of value of life on the Earth and basic importance of biological diversity for human life. In this way the UNO appealed to the world community to activate their measures of preservation of life diversity on the Earth in 2010. The humanity is a part of the rich diversity of the Nature; and we are able either to destroy or save this diversity. It is necessary to involve in this activity broad layers of the population, youth for more successful preservation of bio-diversity.
The state and public natural protection organizations of the Republic of Uzbekistan actively work in the field of preservation of biological diversity by promoting careful attitude to the nature, flora and fauna among the population. Thus recently the ‘Society of Birds Protection’ of Uzbekistan has issued a colorful poster ‘100 birds of Uzbekistan’. It at once attracts attention by its bright palette, a large number of described birds and their right names. The poster informs us about migrating birds and birds living in our country. Their bright color photos, short description, habitats, Latin, Uzbek and Russian names are presented at this poster. It is excellent  teaching aid for educational institutions of the country. The porter is issued with the financial support of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea (IFSAS) and will be distributed free of charge at schools, lyceums, colleges and high educational institutions of Uzbekistan. We hope, that the activity of the ‘Society of Birds Protection’ in this direction will be deservedly continued in future.
