The Society of Birds Protection of Uzbekistan annually takes part in the International Winter Census of Water-birds in water bodies and reservoirs in different provinces of our Republic. In new 2010 year the winter registration of water-birds in Uzbekistan should be carried out on the week-end 16-17 January on recommendation of the IWC (International Water-bird Census) program.
The Society of Birds Protection offers all interested persons to conduct independent registration and monitoring of birds) in water bodies in environs of their cities or even in the cities- in lakes, canals and etc. The society is waiting for the results of registration from each of five student ornithological clubs. The more members of the society will participate in the registration, the clearer the picture of the state of birds, which continue to live side by side with us, in spite of winter frosts, stresses and noises.
Employees of the Society of Birds Protection and lecturers or scientific consultants of ornithological clubs at universities can help you to define unknown species of birds.
