Careful, coordinated and qualified actions help to save hundreds of human lives when the crisis situations concerned with catastrophes and natural calamities happen. The experience of prevention and localization of danger natural phenomena is also important.
Over 50 civil and military officials of the health care bodies from Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Germany and USA took part in the four-day seminar devoted to the problems in the field of health care of the countries – members of the seminar. Senior civil and military experts in the area of emergency medicine and disaster medicine, prophylactic medicine in armed forces and public health were among the participants of this conference.
Particular attention was attached to the necessity of regional interaction and cooperation for the resolution of the problems in the field of health care. The problems concerned with improvement of the system of emergency medical help provision including help in case of emergency situations as well as provision of mental health protection in case of emergency situations and methods of counteraction to new infectious diseases were considered in the conference. Special attention was attached to studding of advance practical experience, the International Health Regulations (IHR) of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the problems that appear in the course of implementation of the IHR requirements.
The conference was organized by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Medical Department of United States Central Command and the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies. Since the foundation of this Center over 6000 civil and military specialists from more than 100 countries have gone through the full-time training programs, over than 16 000 persons participated in more than 300 conferences devoted to the problems of security provision in Europe and Central Asia.
